At 8:33, we depart Milford Landing. Our trip officially ends today. Seas are flat, skies are blue, 78 lovely degrees. A nice uneventful trip.
Even Jude is enjoying the familiar scenery as she spots the Saybrook Inner Light at the mouth of the Connecticut River.
At 1:29 we are requesting an opening from the “OLD LYME DRAW”. We learned early on in our nautical life that you must address the bridge operator by the name that they prefer or they won’t answer you! Our calls have sometimes gone unanswered when I called it the Old Lyme Railroad Bridge!
Arrived at Brewer Dauntless Marina at 2 pm. We are quite familiar with the strange current at Dauntless, I tense up, but Pete guides us gracefully to our slip! AHHHH! Home!
We began our Loop 399 days ago! We have logged 123 stops. We have transited 5,791 miles! We visited 18 states, and Canada! We used 3231 gallons of diesel fuel, average speed of 7.6 mph. Words can’t describe how amazing our trip was! Friends of ours are going around again! Good luck to them! For Pete & I, there’s no place like home!
