Held up at the dock until 11 am due to replacement of pilings in marina. A barge was blocking our exit. Finally wee were able to back out. We were against a cement pier & Pete did an impressive job maneuvering out of our slip.
March 13 was my dad’s birthday & he is on my mind. There is a snowstorm up north 12-18″ expected. Schools are closed for Violet & Ian. We love the snow but happy that we are here!
We scooted along to the W. Venetian Bridge for their 11:30 opening. It is a bit cooler today 59 degrees when we woke, now 69. We were able to go under all other bridges today. Arrived at Turnberry at 2pm. Gary helped us dock. He was from New England originally so we had a lot to talk about.
We visited Turnberry Island Marina in the late 90’s with the kids & Serenity (our sailboat). That is when it was in its heyday! Now it is mainly condos, boaters can’t use pool, & the walking areas are restricted. The boaters lounge was nice, the staff was nice, but we decided to cut our visit short. What’s that saying? You can’t go back?
We took the shuttle to the mall, ate at a little Italian Bistro, & bought Pete a pair of Mephisto sandals!
